2024: Rolling Along, Singing a Song
A diagnosis of cancer and the resulting long weeks of chemo and radiation treatments. Every day of treatment was also a day chock full of painting, as if the world was normal and as it once was. Painting to block the hard reality or a more focused approach to art? Like that old saying…”Nothing focuses the mind like an impending hanging.” Also, artists like to stay in control. We create an environment every day we paint and are not inclined to relinquish that gift. All told, this has been a good year on canvas without a visible trace of distraction beyond studio walls.
